Making use of Garages for Storage Purposes

Many people have Garages (Garagen) attached to their property, but most will admit that they are used as extra space to fill with stuff that they no longer use or need. If you are looking to extend your property, then you may want to consider using the extra space, which you have within the garage. Lets face it, garages where originally built to store cars in, but how many of us actually put our car in the garage every night. Converting the garage will not only give you extra living space, but also make good use of wasted space which already exists. Below are some great uses for garages.

Storage Space

So you need more storage space, then why not consider using your garage space for extra storage space, by adding cabinets and shelving to the walls within the garage. If you have a double garage, then you can simply convert one half of the garage.

Convert to a Laundry Room

A great function for the garage, would be to convert it into a laundry room. There is nothing worse than having laundry around the home, especially in the winter. By having a room which is specifically dedicated to this, you can do all your washing and drying in this room, and the best thing is that you can hide it away from anyone who visits your home. The most important aspect of this conversion, is that you must find an adequate space to install plumbing for your washing machine.

Use as extra bedroom space

If you are needing an extra room for one of the family, then you may want to convert the space into a bedroom. By replacing the existing garage door with a window and insulating and plaster boarding the walls, the garage can easily be converted into a bedroom for a member of the family, giving you a break from them fighting siblings.

There are loads of ideas of what to use your garage space for, and you can find out more about these by searching on the internet.
